
Walking / Hiking
Walking and Hiking has been my the exercise that has given me more energy that I could ever have imagined.
When we age, we need Zone 2 exercise, like Walking, Swimming, Biking, Pilates. When we were younger, Running and High Intensity Aerobics might have worked for you, but not now. Those type of activities deplete your Muscles. (Muscle is tied to Longevity.) It also puts too much Cortisol in your body. We're trying to lower Cortisol. Walking not only builds Muscle tone, but it's great as a stress reliever. It's good for your body, mind and soul!
Walking and Hiking are my favorite exercises. It's my hope you'll grow to love them, too.

Listen, I walk 5+ miles at a stretch, but I didn't start there. Try walking 1/2 mile and build yourself up.
I have a walking trail near my house that used to be an old Railroad line. They've converted it into a Walking and Biking Path. It's a great way for me to get out into nature.
I'd also encourage you to get a Walking Buddy. Did you know you have a 90%+ success rate if you have an Accountability Partner that you check in with? Walk with a friend. It will help keep you on track. This is your next step to Energy.
